Using a material with a very limited working time of approximately 15 minutes, I hand-sculpt wet gypsum and powdered stone over mounds of clay. The process of creating the work and the resulting forms are products of impulse and discovery.
The surface of each table is poured in several stages using a mixture of gypsum and stone mix ratios, which is then leveled to reveal layers of sediment and natural pigmentation. The resulting marbled surface is unique to each piece and impossible to replicate.
Due to the nature of the material used, variation in colour and pattern will vary. These variations are a feature of the object.
